25th January 2010 Fr Daniel Manmektot Eshete died in hospital today 25th January while being treated for diabetes. Daniel's funeral will be celebrated in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 26 January. It would seem that he died as a consequence of his diabetes. Fr. Daniel, Assistant Priest at Narooma, was visiting relatives and friends in Ethiopia following the sudden death by heart attack of his brother just before Christmas. There shall be a funeral mass at Holy Saviour Parish, led by the Capuchins, tomorrow January 26th.
