Death reported 29th October 2009 Simon Carson died recently in Perth. He was born in England May 1945 and came to Australia in 1949. He was Ordained Priest for the Archdiocese of Perth in September 1973 by Archbishop Launcelot Goody. Simon worked all his priesthood in parishes, both in the country and the city. He was the founding parish priest of the Ocean Reef Parish, from which he was buried. Simon had just retired because of ill health. After open heart surgery in 2000, he had cancer. Described by his friend John Jegorow as a John the Baptist type person. Simon was passionate about his work. He was an extraordinarily generous person. He often described himself as "a river to his people". He was a man of a few words but quick to say what he thought.
