5th September 2009 Fr Neville died last Saturday morning, 5th September, 2009 at St Joseph's Nursing Home, Sandgate. His Funeral Mass will be held at St Laurence O'Toole Church, Broadmeadow this Friday, 11th September, 2009 at 10.30am and then for burial in the Redemptorist Section, Sandgate Cemetery. Fr Neville was born in Quirindi NSW but grew up in Merewether. He spent 36 years of his priestly ministry in the Philppines and had been back in the Newcastle area for the last 20 years.
