18 August 2009 Fr John Leahy died suddenly on Tuesday 18th August while on vacation. He was a senior priest of the Diocese of Sandhurst and will be remembered for his wide pastoral contribution across the Diocese over many years. He played a significant role for his Diocese during the Ministry to Priest Programme in the mid-1980s. John will be buried from St Killian's Church, Bendigo, on Tuesday 25th August.
