Fr Leonard Joseph Bibo, born 11th October 1928 and died peacefully last Friday 24th July 2009. He was buried from St Monica's Cathedral to-day.

Len worked for a few years, first alongside his father, a vcarpenter and then for a legal firm in Brisbane. He entered Pius XII Provincial Seminary at Banyo and was ordained on 29th June 1955.

He answered the call to come to the Cairns Diocese where he worked for all the years of his priestly ministry. Len loved north Queensland and served in the parishes of North Cairns, Tully, West Cairns, Malanda, Thursday Island, Cooktown and Cape York Peninsula. It was in his ministry to remote areas of Cape York Peninsula that Len found his niche and was happiest.
